#009 up the Hudson River in snow

(Feb 2004, finished Nov 2004, written Jun 2010) Wendy reminded me today that we'd jumped in her car and driven up to Cold Spring Harbor to go for a hike. Hike we did without a map and we were soon lost. There were almost no other hikers out that day. Eventually we came across two guys and we asked them where we were. Alas, they were stoners and they babbled uselessly and incoherently. Eventually we made it back to the car and drove into Cold Spring Harbor. We had brunch there then went for an ice cream and sat in the car and realized by bizarre coincidence we had parked in front of an ex-boyfriend of Wendy's house. It was the last place you'd think this New Yorker would have moved to, but he had, and he walked right past our car and into his home. He must have thought we were stalking him as we calmly watched him go into his house and licked ice cream.
